TORONTO, ON, August 12, 2009 - MAVERICK, one of Canada's leading independent firms, has announced the hiring of Martin McInally as the company's new Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs.

In his new role Martin will manage the firm's existing corporate practice accounts  and aggressively seek out new business opportunities.

Prior to joining MAVERICK, Martin spent five years in Switzerland as a senior communications executive at two of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies -- Roche and Novartis.

He is the past National Director of Marketing and Communications for the Canadian Diabetes Association and has worked extensively in government relations -- both from the agency side and also from the inside working directly with the Ontario Solicitor General as his Communications and Media Relations Special Advisor.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Martin to an already talented and dynamic team of communications professionals," says Julie Rusciolelli, President, MAVERICK Public Relations.  "Martin brings a wealth of national and international experience to the table that will be of enormous benefit to our clients in the ever changing landscape of the global business environment."
